(Psychobabble is a song by The Alan Parsons Project, and its probably what you are reading now. I'm likely high on contact cement fumes. Ha!

I have spent all day listening to The Alan Parson's Project, and it has been joyful. I am currently on side four of six of the live album, another new album that is totally worth it. Now, I don't hear a lot about APP so I never know if people really know about them, but my mom and I listened to the hell out of them. I couldn't listen to Eye in the Sky for years, I was so sick of it. My mom was the kind of person that would carefully line up the needle for a single song, and play it over and over. She loved APP and I can picture the living room whenever I hear them. I'll regale you with a little story, as interpreted by a child, so lacking accuracy. When my parents were young - maybe 21 or so, they were kicked out of the house they lived in and had to find a place on their own with their 4 year old little Laura. They found this tiny house on King George Highway. It was a really old house, and it was just up the hill from the community of Bridgeview in Surrey, BC. After living there a few years, the landowner sold the property to the municipality, so he told my parents that he didn't tell them anyone was living there, so as far as he was concerned they could keep living there, they just didn't have to pay rent anymore. So that was a score for a young family, and we lived there a couple years like that. This house had a ... cellar, that was used as a workshop for my dad, and I used to spend hours with a 5 gallon bucket full of nuts, bolts and washers etc which I would happily sort into separate buckets, hanging out with my dad. I'm smiling thinking about it. Just so you know, there isn't a point to that story. It just fell out of my brain because of APP.
We had 9 of their 10 records when I was a kid. In my research today, I see they have a box set of all ten plus another unreleased one. I would love to have this, but am not prepared to spend nearly 400 of some currency to buy it. If I Could Change Your Mind, which is the last song on the B side of Eve, is the first song I sang in public, and I was so nervous! I got to bring up that Austin Powers reference when Doctor Evil announced his newest weapon called "The Alan Parsons Project" and Scott Evil informed him that was the name of a prog rock band, and it helped me chill out. Public speaking is not a problem for me. Singing is another story.
In summary, I love Alan Parsons Project and I have had a great several hours listening 4 albums, a greatest hits compilation, and a recent live album with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. I will be looking for I Robot, Tales of Mystery and Imagination and Turn of A Friendly Card as soon as possible. Kyle is in Holland, so I didn't go to Chilliwax (awesome record store in Chilliwack) today, which is part of our Saturday ritual.
Time to talk about art! Finishing is the hardest part about preparing art for sale. Topcoats, linings, packaging, pricing, storing. It all takes much longer than the actual process of putting paint on the canvas or box or whatever. It was my goal today to finish some things and pack them away. Thought I'd have a couple more things to show, but of course I have lost the hardware in the chaos. Typical.

I found it, quick little edit
